Does time really slow down or speed up? Does the speed of Light really change? Are they both relative to the observer? Do they relate to God and the Bible?
Albert Einstein made a research on the above concepts. First off, he carried out an experiment with twin wristwatches which he gave to 2 different individuals. While one individual stayed on earth, the other travelled to space and back with a speed of about more than half of the speed of light.
When he returned, his watch was few minutes backward compared to that of the individual who was on earth.
In the end, his conclusion was "time slows down and speeds up as you approach the speed of light".
In order to get the accurate speed of light, he carried out another experiment using a vacuum. He got a lantern, put it in a vacuum on a moving train. Measuring the speed of light at different speed levels of the train showed that the speed of light is constant.
This means time is relative to the observer but the speed of light remains constant even when viewed from different angles.
No wonder apostle James describes God in James 1:17 as "the father of lights in whom there is no variation".
