Poverty is Gold

Poverty.
Oh well, Many quiver at the sound of that word. Some people's only aim and Ambition in life is to make sure the word Poverty isn't mentioned in their timeline so they get to buy that dream Car or get to build a house for their Mommas and make them proud.

But the funny thing God has said in His word that
"...God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise..." .
He even went on to say that In the same verse that
"...God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty...".

It's funny because when you see a topic like "Poverty is Gold" , it sounds foolish yeah??...C'mon be honest!
You feel when your neighbour or your partner is poor, he's supposedly weak and you feel mighty because you think you overcame the word 'Poverty' and then you even thank God for making you a bit higher than your friend you call Poor -But wait- God has said the weak and foolish things are going to be used to confound the mighty ones.

Let me paraphrase that... God is saying He will use your poor Neighbour or friend to confuse and puzzle you in a surprising way. But how??I mean How?? Like HOW? I have money than this guy, my kids attend better schools (That means they have a better future ,innit?),i dress better and we attend the same Church too with his family in my ride. I'm better so ,God ,how would be puzzle me??
How would he confound me??

Shall we see how then??

Firstly what exactly is the content of the word Poverty?

According to the Standard UK dictionary,

Poverty is Any deficiency of elements or resources that are needed or desired, or that constitute richness;
Now this is the meaning of Poverty found in this particular dictionary.
Now when God said he wanted to puzzle people by the things that are of little hype or impression, He knew what he was saying, He is "Ever Wise" .
Now, judging from the bible, it can be noticed that there's a way poverty has been taken and transformed. This shall be analyzed on here and at the end we'll be able to give the biblical definition of the Word Poverty which should be the actual definition.

If you read the book of Hebrews Chapter 11 moving down, they explain Moses's kind of Poverty -Remember, poverty isn't necessarily money, we saw earlier on that it is the deficiency of things desired - The books of Hebrews said
"...Moses,  when  he  was  come  to  years, refused   to   be  called  the  son  of  Pharaoh's daughter;  Choosing  rather  to  suffer  affliction with   the  people  of  God,  than  to  enjoy  the pleasures  of  sin  for  a  season..."

Now Moses was supposed to be the heir to the throne of the great Egypt, just in case you didn't know, Egypt used to be one of the greatest countries then both in defence and resources, though it might not seem so now (Lol)... *Egyptians look away now*

Now this was riches coming Moses's way easily, this was the opposite of Poverty, this was a chance to erase that word from his entire generation forever...I mean we are talking about the throne of Egypt here.

Guess what?? Moses rejected it as easily as it came, C'mon man, you have got to be kidding me. But it is true, Moses picked poverty and chose to suffer with the people of God.
Now this sounds unimaginable, this is impossible, what was he trying to achieve with that decision?? Wow EGYPT!!!!!

It's like he took the people of God and poverty above Egypt's throne, it's funny because he suffered afflictions with his own Poverty.. It was a double combo and he picked this. But why?
"...Esteeming  the reproach   of   Christ   greater   riches  than  the treasures  in  Egypt..."

Wow. Wow. But to an average man, I thought the treasures in Egypt were greater?? Have I been wrong?

Now, Moses did not do this because he just didn't like Egypt or necessarily hated money on he had this Phobia for Fame and money. He was a normal man like me and you. But he knew something in his heart that "The Riches of Egypt" would take this space that the "Reproach of Christ" would need.. And he preferred Christ on the gold platform of Poverty. And BTW it was never recorded that Moses went hungry, God gave him all He needed in his poverty - I wouldn't call that Poverty anymore, now would I?? - I would call it hitting two birds with one Stone.
You see how God puzzled the Leaders of Egypt then?? This was how he used the "...weak to confound the Mighty..."

You know I heard of a Story recently of a Christian brother that said he had too much money and he didn't know what to do with all of it.
So He went to get prostitutes at one corner with the money. Then you begin to wonder, what would have happened if he didn't have those money.
The space for Jesus would be replaced with the love for money if you don't understand how to balance it.

Here is how we define Poverty then:
"Poverty is a gift that can be used to increase our faith and help us die to ourselves to the extent where our total Trust is in God and God alone so that even when money comes, We aren't moved"

Now I'm not necessary saying that poverty is good, I'm saying it can be transformed to a superpower, there's a way the Weak things of the earth can be used to puzzle the mighty, it can be used as a tool, a tool many rich people cannot easily use, it was even specified that "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle..."
This makes me want to be poor as long as constant death to self is gained!

Sometimes the best way you can handle Wealth is when you've stood your ground through Poverty.

My name is Richard Emmanuel and I believe Poverty is Gold!!
